Chelsea, so far...

The past few months at Chelsea seemed to have flown by. I felt the rotations gave us little insight into what would be expected of us and seemed to be more of an eye opener to the potential we have as students to create diverse and thoughtful work, a transformation from the (supposed) "dull and mind numbing" experiences of A level, though I personally disagree with this statement finding my time at A levels to be a revelation into the creativity and excitement that art and design offers you. Putting that aside, the rotations have been a fast pace, creative overload that has flipped my world upside down.
When I first arrived I had my goals set and my future planned, I wanted to pass the foundation and continue on to a BA degree in Visual Communications at Chelsea. But, going through the various rotations I felt those plans slipping away like sand through my fingers. You come to realize studying at an art college, that you can never foresee your own future. we are not fortunetellers and we just need to go with the flow pick at things that excite us and make the most of the opportunities we are given. That is why I came to realize that a change of direction may be necessary after the 3D rotation caught my attention.
In this modern age, where our harmonious balance with nature is starting to shudder and buckle It is our responsibility to maintain and conserve the incredible natural world. The problems with ever increasing population and the need to aid, control and invent new ways of coping with issues such as this is a highly urgent problem that is, and will continue to be addressed. As a designer your aim is to fulfill the needs of any inconvenience, be that the smell from your drain or the housing of some 2 million refugees. No matter how big or how small there is always a need for design and development. This idea excites me, and the idea that I may make a difference and aid any problem excites me. Through the 3D spatial pathway I believe it is a stepping stone into understanding the necessities in tackling design issues to create appropriate and effective solutions. That is why I believe 3D spatial would best suit my development through to a degree course.
